Mark Martin won the Nationwide Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway when a flat tire sent the leader Brad Keselowski into the wall on the final lap. Danica Patrick was fourth, the best finish for a woman in a national Nascar race since Sara Christian was fifth at Pittsburgh in 1949. “We just had a good car, that’s all I can say,” Patrick said.
¶Nascar placed Robby Gordon on probation for an incident involving Kevin Conway in the garage at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Robin Pemberton, Nascar’s vice president for competition, said the period of Gordon’s probation had not been determined. Conway briefly drove for Gordon in the Sprint Cup Series last year, and both drivers are suing each other over financial aspects of that deal.
