The San Francisco Giants seem to have carried over some of the luster from their 2010 World Series run into their first two games at ATT Park.

Following back-to-back wins in its last at-bat, San Francisco tries for a three-game sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday.

After Aaron Rowand played the role of hero with an RBI single in the 12th inning of Friday’s 5-4 win, Miguel Tejada drove in two runs with a two-out double in the ninth to give the Giants (4-4) a 3-2 victory hours after Saturday’s World Series ring ceremony.

“When you win games like this early it has a little bit of a carryover,” outfielder Pat Burrell said. “We had the right guy up at the right time. He’s a pro. He’s been doing this so long. You want him up in a situation like that.”

Tejada finished the game 2 for 3 and helped the Giants win their third straight after starting the season 1-4.

“I’m really happy right now,” said Tejada, who is scheduled to get Sunday off. “I’m going to enjoy the moment. I just need to be aggressive. I’m an aggressive hitter.”

St. Louis (2-6) lost its third in a row as closer Ryan Franklin blew his second save in as many nights and fell to 0-1 with a 9.82 ERA over 3 2-3 innings.

“I’m just having a rough time right now. I’m doing everything I think I can,” Franklin said. “I threw some pitches in and some pitches out and I tried to throw the fastball in and it wasn’t where I wanted it.”

While the bullpen has been shaky, the Cardinals offense has also struggled. The team’s batting average dropped to .216 after collecting just five hits Saturday.

“I’m happy with the way we’re competing but I’m not happy with the results,” manager Tony La Russa said.

Four-time All-Star outfielder Matt Holliday could return Sunday after a seven-game absence due to an appendectomy April 1. Holliday, who went 3 for 4 with a home run in the season opener, is just 6 for 27 lifetime with two home runs against Giants probable starter Barry Zito (0-0, 4.50 ERA).

Zito allowed three runs, three hits and two walks in six innings of last Sunday’s 7-5 road loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Zito, who hurt his neck in a car accident on the eve of opening day, didn’t get a decision.

“Considering the severity of the deal, I felt pretty good,” he said. “I had pretty good stuff, so I’m definitely encouraged.”

The left-hander, who is 1-5 with a 5.02 ERA in seven career starts against St. Louis, held the Cardinals to three hits and struck out 10 over eight innings of a 2-0 win April 24.

Zito lost four of his last five home starts to end the 2010 season, walking 14 in 19 1-3 innings while posting a 6.05 ERA.

Kyle Lohse (0-1, 5.14), set to start Sunday for St. Louis, went 1-3 with a 9.82 ERA in his last four road starts of 2010.

In his 2011 debut, Lohse gave up six hits and four runs in seven innings of a 4-3 loss to Pittsburgh on Monday. Lohse is 2-0 lifetime against San Francisco despite recording a 4.62 ERA in four starts.

Giants infielder Mark DeRosa is 8 for 19 with two home runs off Lohse. In contrast, first baseman Aubrey Huff and second baseman Freddy Sanchez have combined for nine hits in 44 at-bats against the right-hander.
